Send a News Tip
Something happened that we should know about? Here is what helps us act on it quickly.
What makes a good tip
We are most useful on stories where something specific and checkable has happened: a product launched, a company changed direction, a policy took effect, a market moved. The more precisely you can tell us what, when, and how we can confirm it, the faster we can do something with it.
Include if you can
- What happened, in one sentence
- The date it happened or takes effect
- Who is involved — company, product, people with titles
- Anything we can independently verify: a filing, a page, a document, a public record
- Whether you want to be named, or want to stay off the record
Sending a company announcement
If you are sending news about your own business, say so — it doesn’t hurt your chances. We cover product launches, funding, expansions and leadership changes when they are genuinely new and relevant to our readers. What we will not do is publish an announcement unchanged as though it were our reporting.
If what you want is guaranteed publication of your announcement in your own words, that is a different product and we will point you at it rather than waste your time.
On the record, off the record
Tell us upfront which you intend. If you ask to stay unnamed, we honor it. If you need to reach us outside of email, say so in your first message and we will arrange it.
What happens next
We read everything. We cannot reply to everything. If a tip leads somewhere, you will hear from us with questions — usually within a few days.
