Editorial Standards & Corrections

How we source, what we disclose, where advertising stops and editorial begins, and how we fix mistakes.

These are the rules we hold ourselves to. They are written plainly so a reader can hold us to them too.

Sourcing

Factual claims in our original reporting are attributed. Where a figure comes from a study, a filing, a government dataset or another publication, we name the source and link to it so a reader can check it. Where we cannot verify a claim, we either leave it out or say explicitly that it is unverified.

We do not publish invented quotes, invented events, or composite sources presented as individuals.

Aggregated headlines

Our section pages carry live headline modules drawn from other newsrooms’ public syndication feeds. These are clearly labeled with the originating publisher, and every headline links directly to that publisher’s page. We reproduce headlines and publication times only. We do not reproduce article text, and we do not claim other newsrooms’ reporting as our own.

Disclosure of interest

Action Global News is published by an organization that also operates other businesses and serves marketing clients. That creates the potential for conflicts of interest, and we handle it by disclosure rather than by pretending it does not exist.

  • Where we report on a company we have a commercial relationship with, we say so in the article, in the body text, near the top.
  • Where we report on a product we ourselves built or operate, we say so in the same place and describe the relationship precisely.
  • Sponsored placements are labeled “Sponsored” at the point of display.

Advertising and editorial

Advertisers do not review, approve or receive advance notice of editorial content. Buying advertising does not buy coverage, and declining to advertise does not affect coverage. Sponsored content is produced separately and labeled.

Links

Outbound links in sponsored and commercial contexts carry the appropriate rel attributes. We do not sell editorial links, and we do not accept payment for the inclusion of a link inside an editorial article.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we correct it on the page where the error appeared, and we say what was changed and when. We do not quietly edit a published article to remove an error without noting it.

To report an error, email email with the article URL and the specific claim you believe is wrong. Corrections requests are answered.

Standing correction line Substantive corrections are appended to the foot of the affected article with the date of the correction. Minor fixes — typography, broken links — are made without note.

AI and automation

We use software in our production process, and we are specific about where. Research, drafting assistance and formatting may involve automated tools. Every published article is reviewed by a person before it goes live, and the publication takes responsibility for everything under its name regardless of how it was produced.

The on-site assistant, Newsie, is a keyword-matched navigational helper. It does not generate news, does not answer factual questions about the world, and only points readers to pages that exist on this site. It is labeled as such wherever it appears.

Privacy

We collect no account data. Forms on this site open your own email client rather than posting to a server. Third-party embeds — video players, syndication proxies — operate under their own privacy terms; video is embedded in privacy-enhanced mode where the platform supports it.
